Day 383...Take off!

Over the seas and to woods off he went on Thursday the 18th. It's been only 14 days since he left but it feels like much, much, much, longer then that. He called me yesterday and said he saw two sunrises, stopped in Poland and froze for three hours while they got the plane ready too and then ending up Kazakhstan for a day and a half. So at this moment I'm not quite sure where he is at only that he was soon to be headed to Afghanistan. I'm so grateful for a safe trip so far.

Below are some of our adventures we did before he left the state of Utah. I'm so grateful to Uncle Rod and Aunt Liz for having us stay with them during most weekends and taking such good care of us. It eased so much burden knowing I had a place to stay with family every weekend when we got to see Adam. Please don't mind the blurry camera phone pics :)

My you are one sexy man!! :D

Happy Happy Birthday Keplar!

February 16, 2013 was a special day for my little man. Keplar had a birthday turning 8 years old and was baptized and chose to become a member of the church of Jeses Christ of latter day saints. What was special was that Adam was able baptize him before he left Afghanistan. we had over 50 family and friends joining this special occasion on such short notice. Our hearts or full from the love and support they gave to Keplar and our family. It was funny on our way home from the luncheon  Keplar kept saying "this is a dream it doesn't seem real. I'm just so excited I can't wait to be baptized." Hahaha it wasn't a dream!! I'm so proud of that boy he's got a very sweet spirit I'm glad he's mine.

Deployment #3, Until we Meet Again

Bare with me I'm a little rusty at writing..

So here we go again, Adam's headed out for his third deployment this time to Afghanistan for a second time. Is it going to be hard? Yes it has been a little difficult for Keplar and Kyly. I have notice that early on when Adam was training at Camp Williams Kyly would have a rough day after we got home from seeing him for the weekend. We had a few sad moments, but we get through them. Keplar,  my sweet boy is older and understands what dad is going to be doing and he worries about it quite a bit. I wish I could say deployments get easier, but truth is deployments never get any easier. This time at home it is a little more challenging having older  kids a lot tougher then having young kids for me. I'm so grateful to have Keplar and Kyly to help keep me busy. And most definitely I'm so grateful for the love a good man who loves us and cares about us.

This is our family and what we do. We sacrifice for others, but Adam more then us. It's harder for him to say goodbye to us and go away. He is going to miss out on birthdays, ball games, loose teeth, playing with his kids, and his little girl starting Kindergarten this year. Me and the kids came up with "Daddy's Memories Box" so we can share with him a years worth of activities. Keplar was worried about everything dad was going to miss.

Adam doesn't believe he is a hero, but he has done some pretty extraordinary things for our country and deserves the title more then anyone I know. However,  its another thing to here your little boy say "daddy's my hero" those are very powerful words when spoke in reverence that way.

So as of today we have 387 days left until Adam is home safe with us again.. We are so grateful for the gospel and the plan of salvation and especially for our Temple Covenants and Sealing. No matter where Adam is at around the world we will always be an eternal family and are working on the same goals. More then anything this is what keeps us close in spirit and heart.

This nation will remain the land of the free, only so long as it is the home of the brave. Elmer Davis
